It will be warming up soon, and with warm weather comes fresh, local produce! Did you know that there are multiple farmer’s markets in the area? Shopping at a local farmer’s market not only supports the local small businesses and local economy, it is also healthier with fresher foods. I have highlighted a few in the area for you to check out once the weather warms up a bit!

Baltimore County Farmer’s Market in Timonium: Open from June to October.

Kenilworth Farmer’s Market in Towson: Open from May to November.

Towson Farmer’s Market in Towson: Open from June to November.

Owings Mills Farmer’s Market in Owings Mills: Open from May to September.

Pikesville Farmer’s Market in Pikesville: Open from May to October.

32^nd Street Farmer’s Market in Baltimore: Open year round on Saturdays from 7am to 12pm.

Local Parks with Something for Everyone!

Lake Roland, located in Baltimore, is situated on 500 acres. This park offers trails, nature programs, pavilions, water activities, and a dog park.

Center for Maryland Agriculture and Farm Park focuses on consolidating many support services for the agricultural community, promotes the future sustainability of the agricultural industry, and serves as an educational resource center for children and adults.

Oregon Ridge Park and Lodge is 1043 acres of beautiful land with plenty of activities for everybody. The Oregon Ridge Nature Center is located here as well as miles of hiking trails. There is also a playground and fitness areas at the park.

Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum, located in Baltimore, is on 142 acres. This area is dedicated to Benjamin Banneker, who is considered the first African American man of science. There are exhibits and trails for everyone, including history, culture, hiking, nature, and conservation.
